One hundred percent of our almost 800 students are living in apartments. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 85% of our students receiving free lunch. Students have the option to receive free breakfast daily through a program at the school that is open to all students.
Our school has a diverse population of students from various countries who speak a variety of different languages. Many students will come to our school for the first time and never have learned to speak English.
I have assisted our school in providing a variety of resources such as weekend food bags for students, free eye care and exams, dental screenings, a free food pantry, and a clothing closet.
At our school, we firmly believe that it is our job and our duty to support all aspects of life. Health and hygiene are at the utmost importance to supporting the whole scholar. This project will allow our hygiene closet to be restocked. The hygiene products such as hair cutters, larger shoe sizes and deodorant will be used to ensure appropriate cleanliness. These will be perfect for giving out.
The less time scholars have to be concerned about health or hygiene matters, the more time they have to focus on learning.
