This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 6th graders are wonderful and enjoy learning about science with hands-on experiences. We are a Title I school and have limited funds for these types of learning activities. Our students are in a rural farming/dairy area. They have a lot of knowledge about farming and animals using traditional ways of growing food. I would love to show them other ways. A new way using different techniques and methods. Hydroponics is the way to go! They would learn a lot about alternative ways to produce food by designing and maintaining the system. The students would benefit by choosing what they will grow. They will use math and science to test the water and measure growth. The best part is that they can eat what they grow.
