This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a variety of different backgrounds, the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The students are growing up in a city filled with violence, and have overcome many challenges. Sports are a safe haven for them. Many of them choose after school activities instead of being on the streets.

These athletes are eager to compete but sometimes lack the tools necessary to be the best they can be in their sport.

They not only are great athletes but great students as well. We now have to take into consideration COVID-19 and need extra resources since things that we used to share we are no longer allowed to do that.

My Project

My project is very much needed for all of the new regulations that we are going to have with sports because of COVID-19. The water bottles will be for the boys and girls cross-country team and the football team.

Gone are the days of sharing water bottles, squirting them into your mouth.

We now need to get every athlete their own. We need to provide water bottles for our athletes that we know can be properly washed and sanitized to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. Most of our athletes play multiple sports so these bottles will be able to help us all year.
