What I love about my students that they go the extra mile no matter what obstacles they may be facing. When you enter my class will you will never know that my students have special needs. I teach intensive reading, access curriculum in all subject areas, and learning strategies to students that have emotional behavior disorders students, and students with learning disabilities. Although the majority of my students are reading far below grade level they love to hear me read books that are at a high level of complexity so that they can imagine what they're reading. I teach them to create a mental picture of what I'm reading, and it will feel like they're watching a movie. My students get so bright-eyed, and the smiles and expressions they make as I read to them warms my soul. My goal is for my students to have a love of reading and if they're unable to read books at higher levels, my goal is to have it so the book can be read to them out loud using tablets to access the books online. Audio library books give my students the opportunity to read hundreds of books.
My Project
Returning to school during the time of a pandemic is essential, and I want to ensure my students have what they need to be successful. Using tablets to work on Canvas online will help ensure that my student have the technology to work at school and at home. Tablets will help my students enhance their educational success while working in my learning strategies classroom. Using tablets to will ensure students will have the opportunity to communicate with classmates via teams online as well as ZOOM. Thank you in advance for your support.
