This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are middle school students of great diversity from a low-income, urban area with a large percentage of special needs students. Each year, 90% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. My students have so much to offer, and I would love to offer a positive environment for them to feel successful in learning.
My students do not have basics such as school supplies, learning tools, and hands-on learning.
My students will be bringing these supplies back and forth with them from hybrid to in-person class.
My Project
As we prepare for going back to school or at-home learning, I want to plan ahead and make sure my students go back in a safe way. I have caddies for each of my students listed on this project so that students do not have to share supplies. My goal is to create a caddy that they can keep at school that only the touch. Having their ear pods, headphones, calculators, and other basic supplies would allow germs to not spread across all of our materials.
My students live in a low-income area and cannot provide these basic supplies.
These basic supplies would allow my students to go back to school or be able to learn in a hybrid model in the safest way possible.
