Help me give my students an opportunity to experience volleyball and baseball with the most up to date equipment to help them become progressive student athletes!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Forrest Gump said a most powerful statement and I quote, "Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're going to get!" This statement is applicable to life, but not just life - it applies to students, strategies and schools. My classroom is so much like this box of chocolate from the students to the strategies that are utilized. When walking into my classroom daily students are held to high standards and are engaged in various learning opportunities that they haven't had before. Coming from various socioeconomic statuses, many students have had limited science experiences and it's my job as a teacher to teach them and give them a different experience.
These are not just my students, they are my family and I will do whatever I can for my family.
I currently teach 300 students and out of those approximately half are economically challenged. Not only economically disadvantaged, but we have a growing population of students whose primary language is not English. With that said, I hope to provide hands-on opportunities for all students, so that learning can be obtained by all..
My Project
Sports are definitely an outlet for our students and they would benefit from the new material as they are working double time to advance their skills to put their best foot forward against the competition. As a result, our equipment is taking a beating.
I hope you will help our devoted and hardworking students get the equipment they need to up their level of play and meet their athletic goals.
