My students need headphones in order to facilitate their online learning. My school has many online enrichment and intervention programs for reading and math such as, The headphones will make it a much richer learning experience.
I teach third grade in a title one school in Long Island City, New York. My students come from a very low income area and most live in public housing. Many live in shelters as well.. Many of my students come from poverty. All the students receive free breakfast and lunch. My school is a community school, so we help meet many of the families needs. We have provide a dentist, mental health counseling, and even a food pantry.
Despite the challenges that my students face, they are positive, motivated, kind, and fun loving.
They love to learn and appreciate the little things. They love to read and they love to learn using technology.
My students come into class everyday with smiles on their faces and always willing to lent a hand. They are kind to each other and to anyone they meet. My hope is to give them everything they need to help them learn and keep those faces smiling!
My students need a class set (30) of headphones that will allow my students to listen to the online learning programs without hearing the sounds of the other computers and noise around them. This will allow for a richer intervention or enrichment experience on the Iready, Mathletics, and Myon programs purchased by the school.
Your generous donation to this project will help increase my students reading and math levels.
My students will also have the opportunity to watch and listen to online videos that will enhance their learning experience in science and social studies.
This project make a difference in my students learning by getting the full experience of online learning programs. Over the last two years my students had to use these programs without headphones and the sounds from the computers around them made it very distracting for them to learn.
