Help me give my students a place for reading books and read alouds. It's also a place to end our day with what we learned. Our rug was damaged in a hurricane.

My Students
First graders learn so much during a school year. We get to watch them blossom into readers. It is a great feeling knowing you helped them be the best they could be.
I teach ESE, ELL, and regular education students.
We teach skills multiple ways to engage all students in our classroom. For example, we use flash cards to work on sight words and I say, "The more words you know, the better reader you will be." Some students repeat that expression during our reading block, which makes me smile.
My Project
First graders love listening to stories. Our rug was home to our read alouds. They also love reading books independently; therefore, the rug was a great place to get cozy with a book. We also used the rug to end our day with "what we learned", reminders and plan for the next day.
This cozy place was damaged in Hurricane Michael.
Due to the damage, nothing in our classroom was saved. With this project, it will give back a home for books to our kids and continue our love for reading books. It will also give a place to end our day.
