My Students

My students are mostly from low income families to begin with and many of them were affected by Hurricane Harvey and the devastating rains that followed. Most of the students affected are displaced from their homes and living elsewhere. Some are living in travel trailers in their front yards, rental homes, hotels/motels or with relatives. These students struggle to find a reason to come to a hurricane affected school each day.

I want my students to have all of the supplies they need to be successful in class.

I have a great group of kids that I want to enjoy coming to school and find ways to truly enjoy learning.

My Project

My students need a reason to be excited about coming to school. Having more technology that will stay in the classroom, will help motivate students to try to be successful everyday.

My students love getting to use technology in the classroom to enhance their learning.

Within this project, I have chosen Chromebooks to use in the classroom as they are easy to navigate and my students can access the many things and websites that will help them learn more about math. I use technology in the classroom on a regular basis, but access to technology in our current displaced situation is difficult and inconvenient.
