My Project
Current statistics show that 1 in 7 American school children struggle with hunger. In a school where at least fifty percent of my students receive free or reduced lunch, providing snacks in the classroom could make all the difference.
As research shows, hunger may impact students’ academic performance and success.
Providing students with healthy snacks will improve their concentration and help them focus on learning instead of thinking about the food they need. In turn, their engagement in learning activities will help them develop, grow, and prepare for life after high school - be it college or career. Ultimately, simply offering snacks to my students can help set them up for future success so they no longer have to worry about where their next meal will come from.
