This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students come to school with an empty belly. They do not have any food at home. If they can rely on me to be able to feed them, then they will be able to focus on school. Most of my students have also not had a childhood.

They have a large amount of trauma and often have not been able to just be kids.

By the time they get to high school, they feel as if they had to grow up so fast that they never got to experience just being kids. By providing them with their basic needs of snacks and food, they will be able to focus. By giving them a reward that is small, it will remind them that they can still be kids. Thank you for allowing them to still be kids even in high school.
