Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever just looked at a group of kids and laughed? Those would be my kids. My kids are in second grade bilingual classroom. Since I am a block teacher, I teach twice as many kids and have twice the amount of love to share. They are Spanish speakers learning to love reading and writing. They are in a Title One school so all my kids receive free lunch, ride the bus and come from low-income households. Many things in my classroom will be very new and exciting for them to try!
I am so excited to see my kids every morning and learn something new together as a family!
My Project
My awesome second graders are ready to learn and need all the resources I can provide for them.
It is important that dictionaries be tailored for the kids using them each and everyday.
I want my students to have easy access to any word they are looking for. They do not know or even explore words they would like to learn more about. My dream is to have a class set of dictionaries stored in my room. They can easily use and learn how it helps with their writing process and reading comprehension. Words are amazing and abundant, but what good are they if you don't know over half of the words out there in the world?
