My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? My students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations, but they have also not yet met Suzanne Collins!

I teach 3 different literature classes.

My students are not your typical bunch of middle schoolers. They are so diverse. Every day is a new adventure. My students are very enthusiastic about popular fiction! I believe strongly that my students have the capability of reading higher level texts that will engage their interest.

My Project

I am requesting 35 copies of "The Hunger Games." I think these books will inspire my students to read more! Investing in our students' literacy is so important and these books are very engaging! Several of my students have actually asked for copies of the book and I would like to be able to offer them these books as an option for reading because that is what they want!

It will change students lives in many ways hopefully facilitating a life long love of reading!

The book captivates readers' attention and it will show the students that books are not all boring!
