My pitch will be hard to dismiss. I see 500 intelligent, eager learners every week. Now I have nothing against graphic novels, Manga's, or any fictional drama or adventure, but there are many students who need higher levels of learning. With new STEAM materials available, these willing learners can continue to strive towards excellence.
We believe in The Power of YET, our students can achieve anything as long as they don't quit.
When I look into our student's faces, I see scientists, engineers, doctors, and professionals capable of anything they put their minds to. They believe it also. Please help be part of shaping their education by donating what you can.
As a Title I school, most of our students live below the poverty line. Our library is a safe area where homework club, library lessons, and STEAM support learning happens daily.
My Project
The books I've selected will help prepare students to be problem solvers. The materials vary between software coding, engineering, mechanics, and a variety of sciences. We have a small variety now, but a larger selection is essential. I watch students check out books that give only a superficial information on important STEAM subjects. More selections will allow for a better rounded education.
Once the books arrive, I will display them on a prominent counter, keeping their covers in the students eye line, promoting these essential learning subjects.
Providing a distinctive display puts the books in the students hands before other entertaining but less educational books are picked.
