This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every morning students arrive early eager to learn. They take control of the classroom and set up for lessons
My students come from all over the city.
We are a magnet school with focus on medical field. Students have to apply and maintain a certain gap to remain. Because our students come from all over the city, many take several buses to come to school each day. Many start their day at 5:00am.
My Project
Students are empowered to set up their class. We had previous projects funded, but needed materials and storage devices. There is part of the year that they have physical education and love to play football. We could only play two hand touch, but with the football flags students will enjoy the game and it will be more efficient. "Speed it ton" is a game of badminton but uses an entire class for max participation. Cesar Milan dvd's are resources for humane education. The portable white board is added technology for classroom. iPod and speakers will allow music to be integrated into PE classes outside (we don't have a gym). The keyboard for iPad adapts to population with special needs that have perception issues.
These materials will build student confidence and improve participation.
Even though they go to school in a high poverty city, they will have all the technology and materials necessary to succeed. These materials will enable them to expand resources also teach them how to properly care and store devices. The phys. Ed equipment will help develop cardiovascular endurance and team play/cooperation skills.
