Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students travel from all over the city. Many wake up by 4 am in order to get on their first public transportation vehicle by 5 am, in order to arrive to school on time. Most students depend on our school to provide two meals a day-usually the only meals many may get.

We are a magnet school with a focus on the medical profession.

Students that attend our school plan on going into the medical field. Our purpose is to expose them to as many professions as possible and create some type of internship so that they may experience what it might be like to be in the medical field prior to attending college.

My Project

The IPad minis will assist with student lead instruction. Students will have the opportunity to work with others or independently to do research, complete classwork or to assist with homework/research. The iPad mini will also assist student to locate college/institutions for opportunities for higher education after high school.

The iPad mini will encourage, motivate and supply students the opportunity to independent learning and research.

It will also give students the opportunity to utilize the internet, since most do not have internet at home.
