Hue Knew Learning Could Be This Bright?

Help me give my students paper with a pop of color to their review notebook!

Ms. Richmond Westside High School
Jacksonville, FL Grades 9-12

My Project

I absolutely love my students’ resilience and determination. U.S. History covers a wide span of content—from Reconstruction to the Modern Era—and it can feel overwhelming. Yet my students consistently show up ready to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and make meaningful connections between the past and their present. Many balance responsibilities outside of school, but they continue striving to improve. Their perseverance inspires me every day.

The project “Hue Knew Learning Could Be This Bright?” will support my students by providing the colored paper they need for organization and engagement as they prepare for the U.S.

History EOC.

Printing each unit’s study guide on a different color of copy paper will help my students visually organize content. For example, Reconstruction may be blue, the Gilded Age green, World War I yellow, the Great Depression and World War II orange, the Cold War pink, and the Modern Era purple. This color-coding system allows students to quickly locate materials, mentally group information by unit, and strengthen memory through visual association.

Colored paper also helps important information stand out. Study guides won’t get lost among white handouts, and students will immediately recognize review materials. For many learners, color serves as a powerful memory cue, increasing focus and recall during study sessions and on test day.

These simple resources will turn everyday copies into meaningful study tools, helping students feel organized, confident, and prepared for success on their U.S. History EOC.
