My Project
Have you ever watched a 16 year old deliver a piece of researched persuasive writing surrounding prescription pain killer abuse? I have. The members of HOSA at HPHS work tirelessly to prepare themselves for HOSA conferences where they will have the opportunity to deliver these speeches to crowds of hundreds of students, teachers, and health care professionals. The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community. Not only do students have the opportunity to give speeches but they compete in medical competitions such as medical innovation, forensic medicine, clinical nursing and medical math. Normally these amazing conferences are affordable and we are able to fundraise to meet the costs but this year they have raised the price to over $50 per student. Along with transportation this has become a near impossible feat. We are reaching out to our community for help in making sure these students don't lose out on a life changing opportunity.
