Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach small groups of students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. My school is in a low income area and we are a TITLE 1 school. The students' levels of ability vary greatly. They come to school excited about learning, they arrive at school every morning for breakfast and then off to the classrooms ready to learn.

An HP laptop would provide the opportunity for the students to access the computer at any given time. A classroom laptop would be especially beneficial as educational web-sites are readily available at all skill levels.

An HP laptop computer will give the children, especially those who do not have a computer at home, the opportunity to access one at school. Using a laptop will give my students a sense of independence. They would be able to access a new on-line Weekly Reader as well as down load leveled books to print off for use in the classroom and at home.

Your gift would allow my students to access the computer more frequently than they do now. Lessons will be more engaging and exciting with the use of technology.
