Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students that I teach are in the Boston Public School system in an Applied Behavior Analysis classroom. They are children with severe disabilities who are eager to learn as well as a staff who have more professional integrity than any I have seen before. The students in this classroom require sensory manipulative in order to develop necessary skills.

I wish to see all of my students strive for independence with a full resourced classroom that practices multi-sensory strategy teaching methods.

With the materials that could be available to the classroom, I will be able to implement the most effective lesson plans, while delivering the best practices that exceeds any expectations.

My Project

The use of reinforcement in an Applied Behavior Analysis classroom is critical in the success of the program. By using the Table Sensory Play Materials, a Light Up Timer, Colored Kinetic Sand and The Little Beanbags that have been selected, I could create a wide variety of not only potent reinforcement items in order to shape positive behavior, but also would give my students sensory motor items that help the them with fine and gross motor deficiencies. Also, Table Sensory Play Materials, a Light Up Timer, Colored Kinetic Sand and The Little Beanbags would also perpetuate cooperative play skills as well as teaching them basic skills of color, shape and size as well as deeper learning!
