This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are energetic and full of life. They enjoy learning with one another in groups and pairs, researching and sharing ideas. The students are curious about post-secondary education snd how the process works. Although, the majority of my students plan to attend college or going into the military, several want to be skilled laborers and either go directly into the workforce or attend trade or vocational school. Many of my students don’t know which career path they wish to follow but I have an idea, today, about what the job they want. Educating students on the many career paths, using technology and understanding the workforce and employment trends is something the need to be aware in order to understand what tools the need to pursue their future dreams.
My Project
It is essential that our children of today learn about life outside of school. I want to expose my students to the financial and economic part of society while engaging them in becoming productive citizens. They will learn what is necessary educationally by developing their high school plans, looking at the various options for college, technical school, military or the work force after graduating from high school. During this process, they will learn how to look for and apply for a job while understanding the reasoning for being able to write effectively. With these books, they will be able to read the trials and tribulations the individuals they are interested in have faced and how they overcame adversity.
