My center is made up of children Kindergarten through 5th Grade. I have children from all ages and different learning styles. The kids come in from a long day at school and for some of them this is like their second home. We try to provide an environment for the children that is safe and comforting. It can get difficult when the age as well as their interest are so dramatically different. My staff and I are always trying to provide a variety of materials to spark the children's curiosity as well as provide developmentally appropriate material. We try to provide an environment that strengthens relationships with their peers and also children of different ages.
My Project
The material will be a great addition for my flex seating. I want to provide a cozy sitting table for the kids. They can do homework here as well as play board games with their peers. The zafu meditation cushions will be a comfortable option for children to sit on the floor. The yoga blocks will help children in propping their knees so each child can sit comfortably on the cushions. They also can be moved and used in mindful activities with children. Because my center provides care for a wide range of kids I try my best to provide opportunities to cater to all my kids needs. These materials will be a great addition to the flex seating environment I am developing at my center.
