This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My elementary students are like all other students, they want to learn. They are eager to soak up new information each and every day. They are very kind, creative, energetic, lovable and helpful. For most of them learning is a difficult task. They have a hard time with reading and writing. Since I only teach writing, my goal is to make writing interesting and fun, so that they will want to complete their assignments. These students deserve the best that a school can offer.

My Project

Back in the day, typing on typewriters were fun! The big question was always, how many words per minute could you type?

Having a few typewriters in my classroom, will allow my students an opportunity to type their writing assignments instead of using paper and pencils.

This year I want students to be excited to use typewriters to start or finish their assignments. Writing for students is a difficult subject. So I think with the addition of using a typewriter, students will be eager to do prewriting and drafting in preparation to type their assignments.
