My students need a drying rack to dry their art work, a greenhouse to learn about plants, and a book cart to store the books.
Do you remember learning about plants and growing them when you were in elementary school? My students would love the opportunity to watch their plants grow right in their classroom.
I teach in a public school that has a high poverty rate.
Even though some of my students do not have many resources to use to explore, they are thirsting for opportunities to explore. They love to see, touch, hear, smell, and taste when they are exploring.
I would love to provide my students with an opportunity to use all of their senses as they explore plants. The greenhouse will provide an opportunity for the students to learn how to grow their own plants. The drying rack will allow the students an opportunity to dry the artwork they created with the plants. The storage for the books will allow the students to store their books about plants without them getting torn.
I believe that this plant project will allow for a hands-on activity for the students to grow their own plants and explore their plants.
This will teach the students how to grow plants, how to take care of them, and how to use them. These students may be the ones to take the information that they received with this project and use it in the future to help better the world in which they live.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
