Kindergartners are always ready to learn new things! My goal as a kindergarten teacher is to spark a love of learning and to begin a positive school experience for my students.
The five and six year old students in my class have their whole lives ahead of them and dream of becoming sky scraper builders, paleontologists, Olympians and Presidents.
It is my job to encourage my students to always try their best in all that they do. I want them to remember my voice when they are older saying, "You can do it!"
Kindergartners always look deeply and ask questions. I can't wait to teach this group where their food comes from! Many have never planted seeds before. Most do not know that ladybugs and other critters help our gardens grow. Using these new tools with some new books to add to our garden, farm and critter unit, will make learning and creating more special. We will write about how our garden grows and paint how the garden grows. We will observe and draw our in-class plants growing while our caterpillars and ladybugs change before being released to our outdoor garden. Bug shaped erasers will keep us estimating, counting, adding and subtracting. It will be eight weeks of learning, inspiration and fun before we head to a real working farm!
