My 5th grade students are an inquisitive group who love to bring learning to life! We have a strong and tight knit bond in our classroom. They are kind and supportive to one another.
It is my goal to create a classroom where they feel supported and are able to be open and honest about their needs as they learn and grow.
We have an enthusiastic classroom where students are passionate about their work. They are all budding scientists and engineers!
My Project
My 5th graders would love to build a classroom garden! They know it is a big responsibility and are ready for the challenge. They will be able to work together as a classroom community to collaborate, communicate, think critically, and be creative in what they choose to grow.
Gardening will allow my students to focus on the importance of healthy food such as fruits and vegetables.
They are planning to plant different types of fruits and vegetables. Students will be exposed to nature and the benefits of being outdoors. A classroom garden will give them a hands on approach to growing and harvesting food. They will see the importance of growing fresh and healthy food in order to live a healthy lifestyle. From the garden to the table, students will learn how to prepare nutrient rich foods.
My students planning, collaborating, and hard work will result in a successful classroom garden.
