My Students

My wonderful little brainiacs are learning how to speak, read and write in English. They come from vastly different countries with vastly different cultures and customs. So imagine not only having to be in a new place where you know no one and no one knows you as a challenge but ALSO not having your classmates and teachers understand you.

That's where I come in!

My goal is to help these kids gain the confidence in themselves that they need in order to excel. This year alone, I've had students that only spoke Russian, Mandarin or Spanish only. It was a pretty rough start but we made it!

My Project

The translator and headphones will allow for my students to easily translate text, spoken words or pictures so that they can easily communicate with their peers and classroom teachers when I am not with them.

The translation microcomputer has software and apps that allow the students to speak what they want translated, type in text for translation or snap a picture of something.

It has apps and lessons to help the student with the alphabet, words, phrases and dialogues. The device also has a dictionary and games they can play to practice word recognition and pronunciation. The headphones will allow the students to listen and speak into the translator with privacy and ease.
