Kindergarten children love to count, but they will love it even more if they have fun things to count. Most children learn to count out loud easily, but they have more difficulty understanding one-to-one correspondence. They need materials that they can touch and move around while counting.
Many of my kindergarten children have not had any previous school experience.
They come to school eager to learn. They want to play with everything they can get their hands on. I want to be able to provide them with as many different math manipulatives as possible. Using fun counters like the ones in the games and centers I am requesting will allow my children to touch and explore numbers over and over. Giving them lots of opportunities to practice will help them understand math concepts more easily.
My Project
Providing my students with the counting games and counting centers will give them the necessary opportunities to explore numbers while having fun. They can use the appealing objects from the "fun to count games" throughout the year. They will never get tired of working with the "strawberries in a basket", "gems in a treasure chest", "cookies on a plate", and "peanuts in a bag". Children can easily master counting and one-to-one correspondence without even realizing that they are working at it.
I want to provide a great introduction to math for my little ones.
Your contributions can help give my students a fun-filled way to practice counting and learn about numbers. With such irresistible games and centers, my children will have no choice but to learn. Please help us learn how to count all the ways we love kindergarten!
