Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Although the school year has not begun just yet, I am trying to prepare for my kiddos and plan ahead! I do know that I will be having 20-25 students this year, which will be the most students I have had in my career thus yet! I am excited about the challenge and am anxious to meet them all!
With it being a new year, new class, it is important to prepare during the first few weeks of school with expectations and guidelines that you want to continue doing throughout the school year!
A way to teach them can be through stories and examples and that is why I would love to have more books to share with my class this year to start the school year off on the right foot!
My Project
It is very challenging at times for students to learn how to be kind, how to show empathy, how to understand what it means to be balanced. These topics are not ones that you are taught in your education classes in college! They are demonstrated through experiences!
So how can you show these experiences?
How can you allow your students to experience these types of feelings and advances that can help them become lifelong learners? With books!
I would love to be able to provide fun, meaningful experiences for my students through books that can help them grasp concepts such as these in colorful, relatable stories!
