Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are taught the values and skills necessary to succeed in a diverse and ever-changing global society. We strive to create an atmosphere of high expectations and joyful learning where students are encouraged to work together, take academic risks, think critically, and pursue successful careers and higher education. We strive to convey and instill in our students the knowledge and experiences they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives. We work to be the best people we can be and make them successful adults.
My Project
I am hoping to get a heat press to create house flags, shirts, decals, and lanyards. After visiting the Ron Clark Academy, I wanted to give my students and their families the opportunity to create items to represent their individual house. Students are split up into 4 different houses. The heat press would go towards making their house flags, decals, lanyards, and t-shirts. The houses the students are in are Rêveur (dreamers), Isibindi (courage), Altruismo (givers), and Amistad (friendship). These items would allow parents and family members to assist their student in creating materials that would engage them in their classroom community.
