Help me give my students Hot Wheels racing tracks to learn about the concepts of energy, force, and motion in a fun and engaging way. Bring play into the classroom as students learn scientific and engineering practices.
Moonshot makers, future world leaders, and generous, kind souls - the students that will benefit from your generous donation are from a small, inclusive, and diverse K-5 school - a school that includes many English language learners, students with special needs, and students with other challenges. They are amazing - full of energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity! Their integrity, compassion, and respect for others are evident! They deserve the opportunity to dream big and be successful in whatever they choose to do!
My Project
Play is important for children of all ages. It allows students to engage in kinesthetic learning. It provides opportunities to experiment with trial and error, learn from mistakes, and understand the potential gaps between theory and practice. Play develops language skills. It helps students control impulses and develop cooperation skills and empathy for others. Play is critical for the development of creative problem-solving skills. Hot Wheels is a great tool to support all of these things!
Hot Wheels brings joy, excitement, curiosity, and wonder!
Hot Wheels will allow opportunities for students to engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate across grade levels. In kindergarten, students will use Hot Wheels to explore the concept of push and pull, as well as how surface conditions affect forces. In 4th grade, students will deepen their understanding of potential and kinetic energy by observing, predicting, and measuring. Learning opportunities are endless.
