Even though our students are faced with economic challenges, they are highly motivated to learn new ideas and continuously exploring their potential.
Our students are an amazing group of explorers and thinkers that are significantly motivated when given new resources that they know they have to focus on so they can learn new skills.
Being a Title I school with 96% of our students getting free lunch and a community with a high poverty rate, I hope to continuously give my students the inspiration to be lifetime learners, and succeed in their field of choice by offering them hands-on and creative learning opportunities. For this reason, I am motivated to provide them with the technological lessons and skills they need to expand their learning of language and to succeed now, and in the future.
This project will help cover the cost of registration for one pre-conference classes so I can attend and receive specialized training at the largest technology conference for educators in the state. The 25th Annual Hot Springs Technology Institute, or HSTI, will help both my students, myself, and the teachers at our school learn new ways to use technology to meet our students' needs.
Learning how to best use Circuit Air Explore to make materials and lessons to use inside the classroom will not only help me as a speech/language pathologist be successful in using technology, but will definitely help our students thrive.
As the speech/language pathologist, often technology conferences are not seen as valuable places to learn new skills for teaching; however, as the students are learning more and more about technology in the classroom I need to be able to incorporate it in my therapy sessions as well. As the District Speech and Language Pathologist, I continuously search for new technological materials and activities to learn and share to the teachers and students to help develop their language ability and expression. I also spend a great deal of time making materials and finding different resources to bring into therapy helping to enhance language and literacy skills for all students served. I work hard in sharing new and different ideas with my co-workers for integrating technology to use with our academic subjects which will help our students to be 21st century learners that I know they have the potential to be, will keep them inspired and motivated, and be lifelong learners.
Your help donating to this project means that I will be able to attend this great conference and share what I learned with the teachers and students at our school.
