Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you like just pencil- paper activities? My students need hands-on, creative methods to reinforce important skills in the classroom. I think Hot Dots could be just what our classroom could use to meet their needs.
I teach 22 curious kindergarten and first grade students.
Our school is a Title I school and more than 98% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have any books at home. The majority of my students have not been read to before starting school or have had any educational opportunities.
My Project
I would like to use these Hot Dot activities to reinforce classroom learning on a daily basis. These Hot Dots will reinforce skill such as alphabet knowledge, phonics, number sense, addition and subtraction. The Hot Dots activities will become one of our centers that the students will rotate through daily. They will be used everyday; therefore, I am also requesting rechargeable batteries and a charger so that this center can always be available to my students. I think Hot Dots will motivate my students to practice and reinforce the skills that are important to build a strong educational foundation. Hot Dots will motivate my students to practice important basic skills in a fun and hands on way.

School and learning should be fun and Hot Dots in the our classroom is one way to bring fun in. The Hot Dots activities I am requesting will reinforce important skills such as, beginning phonics and addition, in a fun hands on way.
