My students need the Hot Dots and VersaTiles activities during their rotation blocks. These activities allow them to learn in a fun and engaging way. These types of activities also have a self-check system!
I like to foster independence and responsibility in my third grade class. Students learn to manage themselves and learn that they are responsible for their own learning but with my guidance.
My students put in their best effort and strive to be the best that they can be.
They learn to self-manage as they will eventually have to grow to be more independent as the years go on. In my class, they learn to be organized, to take initiative, and to make good choices.
My Project
My students need a variety of Hot Dots and Versa Tiles which are both alternatives to workbooks and your typical worksheets. These items are a unique self-checking activity that can be utilized independently, in partners, or in a small group. The items that I am requesting are activities that will all be used in my math and literacy rotation block. These items allow students to work on math and reading skills and also allow them to check their own answers while I am pulling a small group. During this time, students can be working on Hot Dots or Versa Tiles without asking me to check their answers, as this disrupts the small group that I am working with.
Both these activities nurture their independence and responsibility of their own learning.
It would be a great addition to our rotations that allow them to learn in a fun and engaging way.
