Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students‘ ages range from seven to eight years old, and they attend a low-income public school. My classroom is very ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. As an ESL class, many students are dual language speakers. My students are driven, kind, and eager to learn!
My students will benefit by receiving resources that foster critical thinking skills and allow them hands-on learning to ensure a successful educational future!
Visuals and hands on learning are crucial for many of my ESL students. Given the opportunity to learn from their mistakes enhances a positive growth mindset.
My Project
Giving a child ownership of their learning enriches the learning process. By giving my students a choice in their stations, my students will build confidence in their abilities. Students are more engaged in small group stations when given the chance to take ownership in their learning. I want to give my students the opportunity to grow and learn through the Hot Dots learning stations.
Hot Dots stations will give my students the ability to practice essential skills and give them the opportunity for individualized independent learning.
Children are intrigued by technology and enjoy every opportunity to utilize technology in the classroom. Hot Dots learning cards allow for students to learn a variety of standards on an individual basis.
