I teach kindergarten in a K-12 school with around 1,000 students. My room is filled each year with movers and thinkers. My students are amazing. They have become comfortable in our room and are really beginning to blossom in their learning.
Every day I get the privilege of watching them learn and grow.
My students come from all different backgrounds. They love using technology but don’t always have access to it outside of school.
These students have the biggest hearts I have ever seen. The community they have in this classroom is beyond amazing! They truly care for each other and for their school!
My Project
During our small group learning my students are separated into four learning groups. Each group is responsible for the work that is at their center for the day, this helps us teach the students responsibility for their work.
I am always looking for new and exciting ways to grab their attention and help them practice a new skill!
I believe that Hot Dots will be a fun new way for students to practice skills that they have learned. Hot Dots allow the student to self check their work by giving them immediate feedback both verbally (with a "try again, great job" or music) and visually (with a red light or a green light).
The students in my classroom love to work with the Hot Dots in our room but sadly I do not have enough for a small group. I would love to have enough for a diverse small group to use during learning centers and have enough to offer Hot Dots during indoor recess on rainy or cold days!
