My Students

Students are struggling financially to get to the National HOSA Conference. They need over $1000 each and that is a lot for them.

The students involved are both 3.5 and above students.

They are of mixed ethnicity. Between them they are involved in three sports while also maintaining rigorous academics. Our school has high diversity and high poverty, but has an excellent culture of achievement.

My Project

These students will use this money to buy food to nourish themselves during the competition. Food is the largest expenditure on this trip, as everything at Disney World where we will be is quite expensive. Knowing that they have a set amount of money to use for food will encourage them to make healthy choices and keep their brains and bodies fueled for their competitions.

This will make a difference because contributions like these allow all students the same opportunities.

This is a once in a lifetime experience for these students. Not only are they flying, going to Florida, and participating in a national academic competition, but they will also learn a vast number of things along the way. Most of the aforementioned experiences are experiences they have never had before.
