This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I believe that every child can and will learn regardless of their economic status. My Hoppy Hoppers are a group of four year old little sponges that absorb anything that is thrown their way. For some, the only educational experiences these young minds receive are when they are at school. I want to be able to give my students an engaging learning environment by providing them with the opportunity to be in a classroom setting that allows them to explore through hands-on activities.
Many of my students were highly affected by Hurricane Harvey, but even with their extenuating situations, they still manage to come to school excited and eager to learn every day.
Due to Hurricane Harvey, some of my students are displaced and are living in foster care, living in shelters, and are being raised by extended family members. We would be most grateful for the support of DonorsChoose as we continue in this amazing journey of engaging learning through exploration and discovery.
My Project
The new technology for my classroom will provide the students with engaging learning that will help to build the skills they need for kindergarten. The Smart board helps bring so many fun and engaging lessons to life. A new laptop would allow us to connect to the Smart board to help reinforce daily literacy, math, and science concepts and so much more!
Providing access to a variety of technology is critical in the development of 21st century skills that young learners need to grow.
Children need to be taught how to use these stimulating and exciting tools in ways that promote learning so that they will become confident and skilled users of technology as they progress through out school and through life. Without your help to get a laptop to support the Smart board, my students are missing out on a variety of hands-on interactive ways of learning, which is how students learn best. Please help my Hoppy Hoppers get the technology that they need to be better prepared for the future. We would greatly appreciate your support!
