My Students

Many of my students will be the first in their family to graduate from high school. My students have all entered this school through a merit and a lottery system. We take over 400 applications a year, the students who apply must write an essay on the traits of an IB learner as well as meet GPA requirements. They are drawn from all over the city and all walks of life.

The school has received a great deal of support, but many useful tools did not fit into the budget.

My kids are great, and many have overcome huge hurdles to come to this school. They really are a great generation.

School is an important part of the lives of my students, not only for the education but the chance at a better future. With many of our students qualifying for free and reduced-price lunch, times are hard on them and their families.

My Project

While the debate continues in our nation, there are a few things that we can do right now to mitigate the catastrophes that have pledged our schools.

I hope that I will never have the need to use this Trauma Kit, but if we are ever faced with this situation, we want to be able to do as much good as possible, for as many as we can.

I know that there is very little that we as a single school can do, but I want to have a few of these kits in a few classrooms so that if we need them they are just a few doors down. I would love to have one in each room but, with your help, I will do as much as I can for as many as I can
