Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is in a working-class neighborhood. The children are primarily first-generation kids and in many cases, both parents have to work to make ends meet. A great many of our students stay in our after school programs (some until 5 pm) because their parents have to work.
Our school just turned 100 years old and we are all proud of our neighborhood and our school community.
Students have access to "technology" primarily at school since most of them don't have computers or printers at home.
My Project
When my students return to school after this Pandemic, they will be SO EXCITED to see their friends and teachers again. I want to welcome them back with computer resources so they can continue researching their science and history projects. They can use the MacBook Air laptop to find facts for their team reports and also to work on tutorial apps that help them advance in their education.
Students returning from the "Great Pause" will be hungry to learn about technology and I will need first-rate devices/computers to teach in this brave new world.
I hope you will help me upgrade my old computers so that my students will be able to do all their reports and assignments with ease.
