My students need 2 Tag Reading Systems along with the 4 character books that correspond with the systems. They need 2 Tag Super Speller programs to use during spelling.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I can do it, I can read the word!" Have you ever witnessed a moment where a child has accomplished a goal that she was terrified to attempt? The joy in her eyes is what makes being a teacher all worth it!
I have a class of twenty creative and charming little boys and girls who love to challenge and teach each other new skills.
They are also very eager to learn. Due to their economic status and location, they do not have very many updated programs and supplies to use in school because our school is located in a low income community where 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch.
My Project
These LeapFrog Tag Reading Systems and resources will enable my students to work independently as well as in small groups to learn how to read and familiarize themselves with the story elements of each story. They will also be able to quiz each other on their spelling weekly words using the super speller.
I will be able to conduct activities such as "How fast can u read?!" where each student is timed to see how many words they can read in a minute. Another activity will be "The Author's Chair". This activity will consist of students sitting in the designated author's chair and they will read a book of their choice to the entire classroom and classroom guest.
The Tag Super Speller will allow students to learn their spelling words in an easy and more exciting way. These needed resources will build the confidence of my students and will encourage them to be strong confident readers, which they will take with them far beyond first grade.
My class really needs your support to improve their reading abilities.
We do not have any fancy programs that can guarantee them to be perfect readers, but these resources will be an excellent addition to the methods we use to develop excellent first grade readers.
I want my babies to enjoy a book when they read and not get so frustrated because they are not familiar with a word. I am asking that you invest in their educational future because these children are our future leaders.
