Approximately 550 children attend my school and identify mostly as Multiracial and African American. 100% of the students here receive free breakfast and lunch. We are also a Title I school with at least 75% of our school's students coming from low-income families. Our school is located close to Fort Bragg and as such we have a large military population.
My students need basic school supplies to demonstrate their learning.
They need materials such as headphones, whiteboards, composition notebooks, and binders.
Headphones will help students to listen, follow along, and navigate through computer based assignments. The use of headphones in English class allows students to take responsibility of their learning through online self-paced guided lessons. They will use headphones to listen to audio versions of books, student guided review of lesson materials, and have the ability to pause, rewind, and play back materials or information not mastered on previous attempts.
The whiteboards & dry erase markers allow for quick assessment, having students write an answer or explain their thinking is a quick way to assess students work and identify struggling students.

As for the notebooks, students will use them as journals to express their creative minds and write stories.
