Whether my preschoolers are serving up a delicious dinner, taking an order or feeding their baby, the dramatic play area allows them endless hours of creative fun! Our new preschool classroom is waiting to be filled up and one item we really need is a kitchen set!
Our preschool is located in a Pre-K through 12 school.
We have 44 children from all different backgrounds. We are a very rural school who serves a number of families from extreme poverty. Our preschool is a place for them to play and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. This year we have been able to expand our preschool program which meant adding another classroom. We are so thrilled to have this opportunity to offer early education to more children but filling another classroom with the appropriate materials has been a challenge.
My Project
The dramatic play area is a place where children can use their imagination and take on so many different roles, from being a parent, to being a chef at a restaurant. If we are able to get this kitchen set I know there will be many hours of enjoyment spent playing with it. Children learn so much during dramatic play such as social and language development, this is a time for them to play make believe and take on a different role. In dramatic play, the child can control the events, and wishes can come true!
As I mentioned above I am so excited to be expanding our program but I have been very worried how I will make another classroom as warm and inviting as the one we have now.
By getting this kitchen set we will be able to start to make it a fun, exciting and nurturing environment for our students.
