My students need more Chromebooks! We are fortunate to be receiving some Chromebooks from our district, but we won't have enough for the whole class to be online, collaborating together.
"Yay!!!" This is the level of excitement my students have about meeting any and every challenge. They are enthusiastic and engaged. Our district is about to provide our classroom with Chromebooks and they are thrilled. The one thing that could make students from a STEM centered school more excited? Enough Chromebooks for the whole class! Our school is in the middle of our valley and hosts amazing community outreach events, is lucky enough to have an amazing and involved PTA, and has students who live locally as well has families who chose to come to our site when it reopened as a focus school. I can't wait to be there when the biggest cheer of the year sounds; the cheer for Chromebooks for all!
My Project
Soon we will be receiving Chromebooks in our classroom. Unfortunatley, there will not be enough for every single child. Past DonorsChoose projects bring our numbers higher, but we still need a few more. With your help, every single child can have a hands-on experience with Google Suite, excellent academic websites, and programs any time throughout our day. Students in CORE Rotation groups will also benefit, no longer needing to rely on computers from other rooms and programs to meet the needs of our technology class. Every single student will be able to practice math facts, prepare for CAASPP testing, master internet safety protocols, create graphs, slideshows, and documents, as well as improve their typing and meet grade-level standards. Lessons and practice can become more individualized and work can easily be transferred between home and school. They will become proficient at using Google Classroom, eliminating the need for as much paper, and increasing the direct feedback students get.
