At our school, we have a diverse student population, with about 42% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. Our students are consistently striving to try to make things better for our school and each other.
Despite the various obstacles in their life, the students are great stewards of trying to do what is right, especially when it comes to their own well-being and those of their classmates.
They concentrate on their classwork during the day and those who have the opportunity, participate in extra-curricular activities after school.
My Project
Our school has received several Healthy School awards from our State. With today's lifestyles, many students need additional physical activities as a tool to enable them to choose a healthy path to follow.
We want all of our students to have an opportunity to participate in team sports that will encourage cooperation with others and especially being in charge of their own healthy lifestyle.
Having the ability to offer a basketball team for our 4th and 5th grade boys during the Spring through the Fall, will certainly give these students the opportunity for not only social needs, but certainly a boost towards their healthy lifestyle.
