Each day, we start our morning with a promise. "I promise, to do my very best, to make smart choices, and most importantly, I promise to never give up!"
Many of my students do not have any form of technology at home, and have limited access to it while at school for individual enrichment.
Most of the students in my school come from low income working families in an urban area. All of the students at my school qualify for both free breakfast and lunch due to a high percentage of families considered as living in low income households. My students love to get technology in their hands at any chance they get, which is why it would be a wonderful opportunity to have Hot Dots to provide students with the opportunity for individual enrichment and the Judy clock class set to reinforce their ability to tell time.
My Project
The Hot Dot pens and flash cards will provide an opportunity to better engage my students in learning. It will allow them to work at their own pace and see what skills. They need to continue working on. This is also a great way to differentiate instruction and provide student centered learning opportunities in my classroom. By having a variety of flash cards, the Hot Dots pens will be put to good use during our Daily 5 and math center rotations. The Judy clocks will be used to aid instruction when teaching my students how to tell time. By having the hands on experience, the students are going to be more successful understanding clocks. It's also more engaging!
These materials will help my students develop a deeper understanding of curriculum that is taught because they will have a memorable experience to connect it with.
By giving my students an opportunity to learn in a way that captivates them, I hope to set off a passion within each of them to learn more! I believe that these materials will help me achieve this goal.
