My Project

My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read, reread, act out, and retell stories. Our reading series provides one large big book for many stories. My school library doesn't have a large collection of books from our reading program, so I would like to have books that they have heard, that will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom.

Early readers will often pick up a familiar book because the pictures and visuals are known and connections have already been supported through the lesson with the teacher.

Students who reread these stories from our reading program find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment! Rereading known stories also helps to develop confidence in reading and retelling stories. Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is a perfect way to build better readers. My students will love getting their hands on books from our reading series.
