My students attend a Title I, "Reading First" school in an inner-city of Southern California. All students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. I teach the GATE second-grade class with approximately 24 students. It is a self-contained classroom. These students are tech-savvy and always look for a challenge!
My students have limited resources, and, at times, can't perform to their fullest potential.
Although my students come from low socio-economic backgrounds, I know they have the drive and determination to do better. They understand that education is the key, and I want to provide them with everything they need to succeed in the future.
These hardcover books are perfect for Dr. Seuss Week at school. We need hardcover books that would last for years to come. My students really enjoy Dr. Seuss week because we value and take the time to read all of our favorite books. It's a week that reminds us just how important it is to take the time to read.
In my classroom, we do daily DEAR time and it means to drop everything and read.
The book will make a difference in our library. They will enjoy seeing the books displayed on a playful tree case and value those books even more.
