My students enter the classroom eager and ready to learn. I am currently a special education teacher working with students with a wide range of disabilities. Being a newer teacher in my school, I am working on making my classroom more welcoming to my kiddos. I want them to feel comfortable and excited to be there. I hope to add new hands-on materials, flexible seating options, and technology to enhance their learning experience. Making learning fun will help close the educational gap for my struggling learners.
My Project
Teaching in an inclusion classroom means I teach a wide range of reading levels. My students currently read between levels D-P. Providing materials to differentiate and ensure each and every student is given appropriate books can be a challenge.
I am working hard to expand my classroom library in order to guarantee ALL of my students have exactly what they need in order to be successful learners.
We look forward to diving into a new book and seeing where it takes us. I am hoping to add new books for guided reading as well as independent DEAR time. I want to offer as many options as possible for my students to choose from. The books that I have chosen will be of great interest and meet a reading level in which my classroom library is lacking. The Step-Into-Reading series is perfect quick reads for my kiddos. They are high interest topic books, with attention getting pictures that keep students engaged. They are titles that they have mentioned they wished we had. They love reading for enjoyment, and I want to keep it that way. Thank you in advance for your contribution to creating lifelong readers!
