My Students
My students love to attend our school where technology integration happens on a daily basis. We are a pre-kindergarten to 8th-grade school in Princeton, ME. I teach all 140 students in a week.
I love that my students are helpful, eager, and willing to welcome the community into our building.
Sixty-five percent of my student population comes from low-income households. These kids love coming to school where they feel safe and are part of our "family". They are always willing to lend a helping hand to build our school and community relations.
My Project
Each year, during the week of Veterans' Day, our student body puts on an assembly in recognition of our local veterans. Students design gifts, and the student council greets and treats (coffee and donuts), and a visual presentation of veterans and their accolades is on display while the kids sing patriotic songs.
Students need to learn the meaning and value of Veterans' Day.
We need a large presentation screen for our audience to view the presentation. This event is annual, and students gain respect for their local heroes. Having these materials will make a difference to our students in teaching them respect for our country.
